Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Also, she received the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. At college, she was studying journalism and women's studies. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin in Beijing. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. Following her viral success on the Internet, her song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks, such as body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The final track was connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was which was published in 2015. As a musician and an author in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for acting in a third project. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
